Sarah was born and brought up in the Manchester area, before attending university in Scotland and then London. She returned to Manchester and joined Chambers in 1990.

Sarah has had experience in a wide range of litigation, but in recent years her practice has become specialised in family law. Of late her work has become focused on Children's Act applications, both private and public law. In particular she has experience in acting for local authorities and parents in care cases, along with residence and contact disputes of all types.

Sarah seeks to adopt a very practical approach to her family practice, mindful of the complex issues and emotions which arise. She qualified as a Family Mediator and, as a mother of three, has invaluable experience which she brings to her work.
