Sarah Lawrenson
Sarah specialises in chancery and commercial work. Her practice includes the following areas: contractual disputes, personal and corporate insolvency, professional negligence, trusts and co-habitee disputes, contentious probate, duties of executors and trustees, real property, company and partnership, consumer credit, restraint of trade, civil actions for fraud, sale of goods and hire purchase agreements. She is also experienced in Food Safety cases at all levels.
A significant part of Sarah's practice is construction work. She acts for a wide range of clients from large multinationals to small businesses and individual homeowners. Her experience includes JCT & contractors' claims, employers' defects & delay claims, insurers' subrogated claims, claims involving building professionals and third party nuisance claims. She frequently appears in the Technology and Construction Court. Prior to joining the Bar, Sarah worked for a short time as a quantity surveyor.
In addition to her construction work, Sarah has a specialist interest in contentious probate cases including claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. She has been successful in representing clients in both the County Court and the High Court.
Sarah has received continuous recommendation in the Legal 500 since joining Chambers. In 2009 she was recommended for her chancery work and in 2010 for her successful construction practice.
Sarah enjoys spending time with her young children. Spare time interests include a love of watching rugby league and travel.
