Paul Tindall
Having achieved a first class degree in Law and Politics
and a Masters degree in Law, Paul joined St. James's Chambers in 2001.
He had previously completed his pupillage and become a tenant elsewhere
in Manchester.
Paul has always been most at home dealing with complex legal issues in a commercial or financial context. Over recent years he has built up an enviable insolvency practice, and has been recommended in this field in the last two editions of the Legal 500. In the process he has become an applications specialist, dealing mainly with evidence on paper; and in consequence he is much in demand for company applications and interim injunctions. He has a developing interest in intellectual property law.
Within the field of insolvency, Paul deals with both individual and corporate matters, including voluntary arrangements and company administrations. He has appeared before tribunals at all levels up to the Court of Appeal. He has experience of a wide range of applications, relating for example to contested winding-up petitions, injunctions to restrain presentation or advertisement, setting aside statutory demands, avoidance of transactions, the construction of voluntary arrangements, trust issues arising within voluntary arrangements, and of course the full range of issues arising in relation to company disqualifications.
Paul has a long-standing interest in languages and holds letters of credit from the Chartered Institute of Linguists in translation. Translation of legal documents from French into English can be arranged through Chambers.
Outside work Paul likes to travel and stay fit. He is a qualified ski instructor and an occasional guitar player.
