Paul Stephenson
Paul Stephenson joined St. James's Chambers having
practised at the bar in Hong Kong for several years. He specialises in
Intellectual Property Law, having commenced his career after graduation
in a leading firm of patent & trade mark attorneys. His research into
the question "Are the National Intellectual Property Laws of EC Member
States the Antithesis of Free Competition?" was awarded a credit
pass in Leicester University's International School for Industrial Relations
LL.M programme in European Management & Employment Law.
His practice mainly covers copyright, trade marks,
designs, patents, restraint of trade, confidential information and passing
off and related contractual and licensing matters. He has experience in
dealing with conflicts of laws and intellectual property aspects of computers
and the internet.He has published several articles and presented numerous
seminars about different aspects of intellectual property law and is the
principle author of Cyberlaw in Hong Kong published
by Butterworths. With reference to the internet, Paul is interested in
the development of the law as it relates to privacy and possible legal
solutions to the "spamming" problem.
Paul's interests include Victorian engineering especially railway engineering and biographies of famous engineers, astronomical developments, sports especially cricket and football. |
