Michael O'Neill
Prior to joining Chambers in 2007, Mike spent 6 years as Managing Director of a company operating throughout the North West of England. Mike specialises in personal injury and employment law.
PERSONAL INJURY
Mike represents both Claimants (including CFA) and Defendants in all stages of personal injury litigation, from the provision of advices on liability and quantum, to representation at interim hearings, applications and case management conferences and final hearings. Mike has extensive experienced conducting full trials on liability and quantum, and disposal hearings on both the fast track and the multi track. Mike's practice predominantly focuses on work place claims under the various Regulations, Highway Act claims, Occupiers Liability claims and road traffic accidents.
EMPLOYMENT LAW
Mike again represents both Claimants and Respondents in the employment tribunal, including case management discussions, preliminary hearings and final merits and remedy hearings. Mike also drafts ET1 originating applications in addition to ET3 grounds of resistance. He deals with a variety of employment claims including those for unfair, constructive and wrongful dismissal and for unfair redundancy. His employment practice also covers Discrimination claims, Equal Pay claims and TUPE proceedings.
Mike is a keen sportsman, playing both football and golf as well as going to the gym to keep fit. He is passionate about his beloved Everton FC.
He enjoys reading crime fiction novels, travelling an good food. Mike speaks both French and Spanish to conversational levels.
