Claire Hammond
Claire was appointed as Junior Counsel to the Crown (Treasury Counsel) in 2007. She is a civil practitioner with the emphasis on personal injury and employment. In addition her practice involves some human rights, sale of goods and general civil litigation.
Her personal injury practice encompasses all aspects of personal injury litigation such as road traffic claims, including fraud and credit hire, tripping and slipping litigation, employers' liability cases, Criminal Injury Compensation appeals and Coroners' inquests.
She represents both Claimants and Defendants.
Claire is on the panel of several national Defendant insurers which increasingly includes
RTA / Insurance Fraud cases. In her Claimant work she is prepared to accept instructions on a CFA basis.
Claire's practice also covers most areas of employment
law, including unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, discrimination
and redundancy, for both claimants and respondents.
Her court work covers the whole spectrum of litigation from multitrack trials to applications and interim hearings. She regularly appears on strike-out, pre-action disclosure, default judgment, summary judgment, premature issue and set aside applications.
Claire provides a rapid turnaround on paperwork. She offers a commonsense and user-friendly approach to litigation, providing straightforward and clear advice.
Her main interests are music and travel. Claire plays
the saxophone, piano and clarinet and also plays in a band. Having spent a year abroad as part of her degree, she is fluent in French. |
